Tomorrow at 6:30 PM, we have our Welcome Waggers program. If you have never attended this, let me just start by saying that it is awesome.
The Welcome Waggers are affiliated with Therapy Dogs International, Inc. "Children's Reading to Dogs Program". TDI is a volunteer group organized to provide qualified handlers and their therapy dogs for visitation in a variety of settings.
While it may look like a bunch of dogs laying around in the middle of the library floor, these trained dogs have been known to actually improve children's reading and communication skills. My particular favorite Welcome Wagger is Peanut, a St. Bernard.
